MOTHER’S DAY PAMPERING BEAUTY GIFT GUIDE
As Seen on NBC Seattle New Day Northwest 4/23

It’s the perfect collaboration between fashion & anti aging as a fun gift for Mom.

Sunglasses are one of the easiest, common sense ways to protect the fragile eye area from the sun which is notorious for advancing the on set of fine lines and crows feet sooner then we want.
-
ICU Eyewear’s approach to design is refined, and eco-friendly. ICU glasses are inspired by the world around us, and are a fashion statement that is sophisticated, fanciful, eco-friendly, affordable and just plain fun-to-wear

MY P.O.V. I love this brand! It hits all my criteria: UVA/UVB protection, stylish, vintage throw back vibe, eco-friendly and AFFORDABLE! They price out the sunglasses so that you can afford more than one pair. Thus you can really have fun via the brand adapting them to different looks in your closet with out breaking the bank or dipping into you kid’s college tuition account all in the name of fashion sense!
- My P.O.V. “Uh hi! 1992 called and it wants it’s loofah back” (Snap!) Dermasuri wow’ed me because it reminds me so closely of the fabric used to exfoliate me and ladies Los Angeles wide at popular Korean Spas! A single treatment runs approximately $90 + Tip, and these spas are crowded because the results are self evident. But Dermsuri clocks in at an affordable $19.99 and Glamour Magazine is singing it’s praises for it’s effectiveness. Enough said…I rest my case!

My P.O.V. One of my bosses…Dr. Oz has been a BIG proponent of Seabuck Thorn’s vast beauty and wellness benefits and has recently dedicated segments to the topic. And when Dr. Oz says “jump…” you know the drill kids…we say “how high” Web sites retailing the products are crashed and mass bedlam breaks out in a fervor to purchase the “it” product. This is an “it” product. Once again…enough said…I rest my case. (Oh and P.S. if you use anti-aging serums and moisturizer on your face, don’t you think you should do the same down South on the rest of your body. So everything ages or staves off aging in synergy? Just sayin’)
- My P.O.V. You know from the first slather of L’Dara on your cheek “hey now…what’s this serumy goodness I’ve just discovered???” Its hydrating abilities for the face are unparalleled. The fact that it works on all skin types sends another strong message to consumers that these skin care formulators mean business. Wrinkles beware…there’s a new sheriff in town…might want to fade if I were you.
- My P.O.V. The darlings of the drugstore? Why? Because they never stop innovating and launching cosmetics that me sit up and say “Hey wait a minute…how did they whip up that feat of nature with eye shadow or blush or foundation?” These are the envelop pushers of beauty and you never, NEVER know what they will come up with next. I HEART you PF! ; )
- My P.O.V. Laura Geller is the Queen of the “bake shop.” Well I don’t literally mean baked goods like cupcakes rather, I mean of baked blush, bronzers, eye shadows and pressed powders. She put “baked” cosmetics on the map. Many of us in the beauty world are big fans because these products sit lightly on top of skin rather then settle into fine lines and wrinkles. So in short she kicked conventional powder formulations to the curb. All hail the Queen “Gee” (instead of “Bee” get it?)
- Take a metal cookie sheet from the kitchen OR go out and purchase a small to medium size one
- Head to Home Depot and purchase some round magnets
- Create a “color story” palette and magnetize the eye shadows, blushes and powder compacts to the cookie sheet
- Possibly mount to bathroom wall so Mom now has an easy way to access all her colors and really see what she has. It’s fun, cute Mother’s Day activity you can do together.
Pampering Gadget
Head Kenzan Japanese Massager ($44)
This is a delightful scalp massager with a unique Japanese twist. The brush structure is inspired by “kenzan,” a traditional tool used in Japanese flower arranging to hold the flowers in place. With 92 bristles that hit upon that perfect balance of not-too-hard and not-too-soft, the flexible Head Kenzan molds itself to your head. Simply use the handles on either side to run the brush back and forth, massaging and energizing your scalp.
My P.O.V. As Britney so eloquently said in her first hit song…”Hit me baby one more time” It’s that good folks!
