HOW IMPORTANT IS YOUR SMILE…REALLY?

Pretty gosh darn important when you think about it. A smile is a wordless expression anyone can use to connect. It’s a universal symbol we can all appreciate. It’s powerful too. It can elicit instant feelings of warmth, compassion, pride, joy, humor and understanding just to name a few. And when special occasions hit, think…birthdays, weddings, showers, graduations, class reunions, company parties, any red carpet event…your smile is your number one accessory in everything from photos to interactions! So as we head into the home stretch of award show season with the Oscars just days away…Sunday, March 2nd…I’ve been asking my colleagues…other makeup artists, estheticians and wardrobe stylists their secrets to amplifying your smile to bigger levels of brightness and whiteness. Here’s what I found out:

Eat More… crunchy vegetables and fruit. Biting into carrots, apples, celery sticks and other healthy cripsy things naturally remove stains from your teeth. Think of it as giving your teeth a scrub or exfoliation like we do when we remove the dead skin cells from our faces.
Avoid…smoking cigarette and moderate the amount of coffee, tea, red wine and dark fruit juices you drink. Consider drinking through a straw and try to brush teeth immediately afterwards.

The Banana Peel Effect…simply rub the inside of a banana peel all over your teeth for 2 minutes. Then brush your teeth with toothpaste. You can do this safely until you get the desired level of whiteness. (Who knew?)

The thing I love the most about 3D White products at the end of the day, is their ability to keep us out of the dentist’s chair for a whitening treatment.
