San Jose, California was a quaint, mellow town on Wednesday, July 23…BUT by Thursday evening, July 24th, a mere 24 hour later, it had been through a little transformation…downtown San Jose had been “Eppa-fied!” When the ladies/bloggers and brands that compose the on line community of www.blogher.com come together annually for their pow wow…the city selected to host the 3 day event…comes alive in fun ways locals probably never imagined.  This past Thursday evening marked the kick off for the conference and opening night party planning festivities were awarded to Eppa Sangria. And as I quickly learned…Eppa didn’t take this role lightly. When Eppa comes to play…watch out San Jose. Now the Eppa Team was wise beyond their years and quickly realized it takes a village to produce a 5 star celebration.  So they turned to 2 other brands to delegate and gets some help preparing and for day-of tech support (Go Eppa).

One2One Network is a leading social influencer network that prides themselves on having long-standing, quality relationships with social influencers and matching the right voices with the right brand partners.

The event kicked off at 4:30P in this huge plaza adjacent to the San Jose Art Museum. The bar was definitely at the epicenter of the action. It wasn’t just any conventional bar mind you. It was a purely Sangria inspired bar!  With a huge ice sculpture front and center that had a kitschy feature allowing the bartenders to pour your glass of Sangria down one side of the ice sculpture and into your cup chilling it instantly as it flows from top to bottom. How cool is this? AND you got to choose which of 2 Eppa Sangria flavors: Red or White appealed to your taste buds more.

I naturally tried both and would be hard pressed to tell you which one I fancy more. It’s the ONLY organic premium bottled sangria made with certified organic wine and real superfruit juices. The cool thing you need to realize  is Eppa serves up 2x the antioxidants of red wine and 3x the antioxidants of white wine. Married to this is the fact that with a bottle of Eppa there’s nothing to do…no cutting up fruit and having to wait while it marinates in the wine. It’s easy, just unscrew the cap and pour over ice. If I’m tempting your taste buds…find Eppa at Whole Foods nationwide or use their store locator icon on the brand’s web site… HERE
The other really meaningful thing Eppa is self actualizing on is…their involvement with the Whole Planet Foundation. From June 1-August 31, 2014, Eppa will donate a portion of the sales proceeds up to $25,000 to the Whole Planet Foundation to fund poverty alleviation around the globe. I’m super or should I say “supra” impressed that their sense of global community spirit runs deep.

The party had quite a few ladies, sporting Soybu active wear, actually doing yoga and striking various postures or as they say in yoga “asanas!”  The tunes the DJ played made you want to get your groove on. When he played “Happy” you saw the energy in the plaza elevate.  No one seemed shy and everyone was approaching one another to say “hello” and meet someone new or reconnect with a blogger they met at the conference last year and recognized.  As I like to say it was “Kumbaya” all around.  When ladies who represent Eppa Sangria and Soybu hopped on the mic to welcome everyone…they kept their messages brief and uni-focused…We are one very powerful on line community with a deep seeded ability to communicate and positively impact the population at large through blogging and social media efforts. If I were to try and sum it up, they were saying “be the change you want to see in the world and use blogging as a tool or vehicle to make an impact.’

It was a “spirited” way to kick off BlogHer and celebrate being empowered women with voices that are amplified when we all come together. Eppa Sangria delivered an A+ effort and should bask in the afterglow of a  job well done.

Disclosure: I was invited to this event, provided one Soybu outfit to enjoy wearing and compensated to compose one post by event sponsor. However all opinions and state of happiness the party generated organically, in the moment…are my own.
